FreeNAS 11

I've got my backup server on FN11. No issues. I frequent the FreeNAS forums and while there have been the normal, small number of one-off problems reported, I haven't seen any widespread issues. I'm waiting to upgrade my main server until FN11.1, as that upgrades the jail system, and I don't want to rebuild my jails now, and then again at FN11.1. But, if you have no jails or VMs, I see no reason to delay upgrading.

Yea I am running FN11U2 in prod now. No jails, plugins or VMs. Just storage + NFS services.

I'm running two FreeNAS machines, one FN11U1 and the other just upgraded to FN11U2, both of them with several bhyve virtual machines (set up from command line still in FN9.10.2. Everything works well, without any problems.

What's the general consensus so far?

Anyone seeing differences in power consumption? 10.0 increased the power draw on my nas by about 50w from 9.10

What's the recommendation on moving to 11 now? Time to move my primary NAS to 11, or should I still wait?

Had no issues whatsoever with 11 in the last couple of months - still held off on new feature flags for fall back but didnt need it

I've been running 11 since it came out with no issues but admittedly I use it as a bare bones SAN presenting NFS shares to my ESXi cluster and that's it.

Upgraded and working fine for over two months now. I run Plex Media server, three iSCSI targets off the box.

I've been running it for a few months with no issues as well, though just homelab/homeserver.

I tried 11 a while ago & had problems with VMWare snapshots - 1 Windows VM always failed. Gave it another try last night, and I'm seeing the same thing.

Setup is a typical AIO with datastore via NFS, LSI passthru, etc.

UPDATE: This is a known issue, which affects ESXi with free license. See Bug #25543: Not able to create Vmware Synced Snapshots - FreeNAS - Bug Tracking System.
