Painful day for XMR. Dropped bigtime against BTC today too. Doing better than ETH and ZEC though.

Now about 35 Mh of whole monero network it's BOTNETs

I'm on the fence about my feelings on the Monero bot nets.

On one hand they really due increase the difficulty so less payouts for mining, but on the other hand I'm for anything that increases the use and awareness of Monero because that will increase the value in the future.

Remember that Bitcoin only became popular and quasi-legit after it was used for less than honest dealings and the publicity that came from that.

Getting worse, it seems... Number of connections on minexmr more than doubled from 130-150K to 330K in just about a week with virtually all of them coming online at the same time.

BOTNET don't used monero's infrastructyre as cryptocurrency. Botnet just mine tons of coins for free and then dumps them on exchanges.

High difficulty don't equal high price on coin

I'm seeing XMR up 8% today while bitcoin and most other cryptos are down 3 to 4%. Any news driving that?

@MiniKnight Not sure about news today, but there was the recent confirmation on the bitcoin network that changes to help increase transaction throughput had been approved. Could just be animal spirits...
