A few weeks ago I bid on two E5-2695 V2 cpu's on ebay that the seller listed "as is" because he had no way to test them. Seller over 300 transactions and %100 feedback so I gambled.

I had my max bid for for both at $155.00

I won one at $142.00 :Dand was out bid for the other.:(

It works perfectly......and its a screamer too bad I only have one on a dual cpu AsrockRack motherboard.

So I still have been looking for a pair of V1 or V2 Xeons at least 8 cores and at a decent speed and cheap to replace the single E5-2695 V2 that I have now, I'm thinking of either putting it up on ebay and use the money for a newer cpu and motherboard, Ryzen maybe, or wait for a deal on a single socket motherboard to upgrade my oldest kids Phenom II pc.

Tonight I was watching a seller that sold over 40 E5-2650 V1's and just dropped the buy it now for the two last ones he had for $12.50 each with 2.99 shipping so I jumped on them.

Two E5-2650's shipped for under $30.00

EDIT: I have been wanting to get away from the older 2011 platform, even tried to sell this dual cpu motherboard on ebay and did not get near what I hoped so I ended the auction, but they are hard to beat for power/efficiency AND price.

Oh and they are SR0KQ stepping.

Best one would had been one of the unifi 16xg switch I got for the cost of shipping due to a pricing glitch on their website. The juniper ex4300-24p switch which was new in box at 400$ was a not bad deal either

Nothing spectacular that I can think of other than a couple of small items here and there.
I was looking for a 1155 CPU and won a single bid whole refurb HP Elite 8300 mid tower system w/18 m warranty for $105 shipped. Was listed as i5 but the actual system had i7-3770. .

I don't know if you'd consider this a score, but I do: I was looking for a LTO6 drive to upgrade my tape library (Dell TL4000 / IBM TS3200) from LTO4 to LTO6. When those drives show up on eBay, they're generally $2000+ and have an unknown number of hours on them (some are even past their rated lifespan). I found one listed for $1080 with a picture that showed a small bend in the edge of the mounting plate, like it had been dropped. I offered the seller $750 because the pictures in the listing showed it was bent and they accepted. It arrived in the factory packaging, and I found this:

Less than 6 power-on hours :D. Overland confirmed it was still under warranty, too. List price is $4530 and even the discount sellers want $3700+ for it.

Hell yeah I'd consider that a SERIOUS score...especially if it was sorely needed and meets your use case/requirements. Not many folks using tape arnd here I'd venture to guess and hell almost all big'er' companies have gone to VTL's or cold storage but that lil' thing packs a punch!

Rock on/good work!

"It isn't backed up unless it is on at least 2 different types of media at at least 2 different locations."

LTO6 is about $25 a tape for 2.5TB capacity. That's less expensive than just about anything else for the amount of data (these are 128TB fileservers) involved. And unlike a pile of hard drives in a box, the tapes are designed to be stored for long periods of unused, and there are nice storage/transport cases for tapes.

Dunno if either purchase is really a score, but I recently snagged a SM x9DRD-7ln4f for $209 and 128GB of HP Branded (Micron 8GBx16) RAM for $288 :)

I bought a Supermicro SYS-5018D-FN8T for ~550 shipped. This thing has the X10SDV-TP8F (4c) board (~500), all three fans, rack ears, and the hdd and ssd caddies for the case (~160), 32 (2x16) GiB ECC ram (~200), and a 250GiB Samsung 840 pro installed. It was basically just open box item that was never used.

I didn't need 6Gbe ports with the 2 10G spf's but that's ok, still a great deal in my eyes.

Well my cheap E5-2650's have not shipped yet and no response from the seller, supposed to be here Tuesday.

On a better note I won Two E5-2620's on ebay, one for $1.00 and the other for $2.25 plus shipping.

On the two 2620's I just wanted a couple of ultra cheap cpu's to have as test cpu's so I put in low ball max bids of $5.00 each.

Edit: Ebay shows the 2650's to have shipped, no tracking number and no response from the seller.

@Klee see if you can get tracking info. I had that happen on some RAM a few months ago.

I bought me a new motherboard X10DRG-Q-B. At $350USD I couldn't resist. Lowest price I have seen in a year. Now the pain begins DDR4, V3 QS CPUS, and the hardest decision of all... Do I sell my X9DRG-QF with 2670's or do I try to keep them both.

Ugh!!
I had to go thru this few weeks ago. Seller wouldn't respond at all. So had to wait till the estimated delivery window has passed and opened a refund request with eBay. Guess seller initially didn't respond to them either so they refunded me. Don't know what happened, seller contacted both eBay and me and ordered the item from Amazon Warehouse deals to be shipped directly to me. Almost 4 weeks after the auction ended and I paid originally.
