this seller is very solid, I have ordered a ton of memory and a couple of nvme cards froms him.

the p3605 takes the same firmware as the p3600, it is just a sku specific to oracle that they use for caching somehow. The only caveat that I have run into is that the p3600 are on the vsan hcl, the p3605 pcie and u.2 cards are not.

@timd have you updated a P3605 with Intel Enterprise CLI Tool Set? Or how/what did you do to update it? I've got a handful of them and never attempted after never being able to update OEM intel drives...

I have two of these cards. Very good at that price.

I will check with my guy in the office that I have work on the infrastructure hardware tomorrow morning to get specifics for you on the process. I know we have about 10-15 of the pcie card version of these guys and around 20 of the u.2 format of these cards and despite what vmware recommends we always put the latest firmware on them. If I remember correctly he is using the windows based tools and uses the same process as he does with the p3700 and p3500 ones.

I don't think these (the Oracle P3605 version) can take Intel's firmware — at least I wasn't able to get the Intel SSD toolbox to do anything.

There's another thread on this forum that has downloads of the latest Oracle firmwares for the P3605, as well as instructions for updating on Ubuntu. Following those instructions worked great for me.
