Xeon E5-1600v2 CPU on C6220

Hello,
I wanted some informations about the compatibility of E5-1600 CPU on "classical server".
I knew that somebody managed to use E5-1650 on DL160 Gen8, so it could be possible ?

I wanted to use our SL6500 - SL230s Gen8, or one of our C6220 nodes for this.

Is there any way to do this ? Unfortunately, I've recently tried on our C6220, but it didn't even boot (whereas it booted on E5-2650)...

Make sure you are running the latest BIOS.

It seems that the system supports multi-CPU configuration. I think, BIOS would be locked to E5-2600 series only.

Thanks for answer, I am trying 2.7 version (which seems to be the latest, from C6220 II, not C6220 I).

Unfortunately, I've not any E5-1620 v1 to play with, so I can not try with.
