Why'd we stop doing the how much bandwidth threads?

Did we stop these because pfSense changed their reporting and graphing function to not include totals? This is the @DavidRa thread example I'm talking about

How much bandwidth have you used over the last month at home? April 2016 edition

I stopped because IIRC only a few people replied that month. Probably because I posted it rather than @Patrick ...

I finally got off the quota bandwagon though - in April I had a 1TB quota, now:

@MiniKnight - I think you are right on the pfSense upgrade wreaking havoc on totals. For example:


No easy way to show total used in a month (unless I am missing something.)

Take a look at the Status_Traffic_Totals package

Still not as great as the old RRD graphs, but it does add a quick "totals" feature...

Have to tweak my monitoring and retention periods for utilization as well. Just total traffic moved/day and /month right now.

Mine is my home connection. Funnily enough I have a customer whose 1000 users tend to use less in a month... or at least, they did last time I checked the data.

This is from my home. We got "lucky" here in western Canada (Lucky is a bit much, but it's relative) where Shaw put out a 150/15 internet package for $50/month, so I was able to get Telus to match that price with their 100/20 (105/30 actual) and unlimited internet, down from the $130/month I was paying.

Only half way through October. No cable, so streaming and plex probably accounts for most of this. For comparisons sake, this is a 1G/1G for about $44, no caps (don't think data caps even exist on land lines in DK).
