Thanks.

Now I need to see if it's worth it. For the guys that bought 2 of these, would it be possible to give me as estimate of how big the package was?

Would these drives be good for a workstation/desktop (Lenovo ThinkStation D20) OS drive?

Oh god, he just accepted 10 @ 105 USD. I really hoped that he didn't, now I need to find a good use for these. Call me crazy, but I am still very happy with the performance of the 450GB 10k spinners, I have 8 of them in raid0 :p

Crap! I missed 'em! If you can't use all of them, I'll take one. :)

Dang. I put an offer in on two. Lower than you guys because student budget.

If anyone has some extra, I'd be interested in purchasing them from you as well!

I got 2 @ $105 - this forum is amazing (and expensive).

There are other sellers for the s3500 600gb aswell, don´t know if anyone has pushed the price of any of those.

I got a few more (after my first 2 at $125) at a higher price than $105. I just couldn't bring myself to pay that low a price for such a good SSD. I have S3700 series and absolutely love those.

The nice thing about data center gear is it all tends to come off lease at the same time. There will be more cheap 3500's. Just need to put the cash aside and wait.

I'm curious what the margins are for Tthe guys running around North America right now buying and selling
in this junk market.

Some of the gear seems to have pretty good potential margins if the shipping and handling doesn't eat you. On the other hand a lot of the gear depreciates really fast and if it sits on a shelf very long it may as well go to the recycler.

Good point @RobertFontaine It is probably why some sellers are happy to sell the stuff cheaply and quickly for fear of additional units flooding the market. It does make you wonder how cheap they actually bought them for? I wonder sometimes sellers don't appreciate what they are selling sometimes and you can get lucky. I picked up some new 800 GB S3610 drives for $300 each recently. Seller only had a few drives available as it was an oversupply. Sometimes you can get lucky keeping your eyes open. The items that EBay suggest alternative buys can sometimes be your friend. :)

Mine shipped. FedEx NY to my forwarder in NJ should take a day I guess...
