just curious, i see that you have a 6610.. do you use multiple vlans, or stick with a single vlan for your 6610? if you use multiple vlans, how did you solve getting the 6610 to allow multiple vlans out to the internet?
i picked one of these up a while back and turned it into a proxmox backup server after adding another 4GB of ram. it was quite the ordeal to get to the open slot on that board. i have a usb 3.0 external drive for backups since it does support usb 3.0. nice little server!
i'd love to an episode where patrick explains some of the trends in the storage industry or interview large companies in the recycling business.. super interesting!!
can you ping your opnsense box from one of the vlans using the source parameter? here is an example of pinging my pfsense box with the source being the management interface for example:
ping 192.168.1.1 source 192.168.1.50
if you setup virtual interfaces on the vlans, can you use the same...
if you don't mind noise you could go with a older brocade switch and have like 8-10Gb ports that you could use a SFP-RJ45 adapter?
like this one? Brocade 48 Port network Switch ICX7250-48P-2X10G "GRADE B" SKU 4068 | eBay
