Hi, sorry for the late reply.
Indeed it was a heat problem. I placed a PCI slot fan there and the problem was gone. I`ll have to modify the case a bit to recover PCI slot I lost.
Again, many thanks for heading me in the right direction.
Something new today: upon boot, when I press Ctrl-C to bring up the LSI Config Utility, nothing happens. It`s just continuing the booting routine, like I didn`t pressed the keys. This is happening now for the first time. I don`t have any problem accessing the WebBios for LSI 9280.
Is it a...
And the card worked fine for almost 2 years. I added 3 of the case fans 2 months ago when I added the LSI 9280-4i4e. I was very happy with my system so far. But now...
Thanks for the fast reply.
I think so. I have a really big case, the CPU (i73930K overclocked at 4,3GHz) is water cooled, nVidia Titan which is not overclocked, and 4 x 120mm Case fans (2 for intake and 2 for out-take).
I do have a problem withLSI 2308-8i RAID 0 with 4x256GB Samsung 830 array I`m using it only as a cache drive for media editing, and lately, is giving me big headaches. The array disappear randomly. The card is pretty new, with the original bios, no changes were made.
Everything seems to be...
Flashing LSI 9207-8i in UEFI environment
It`s almost half an year since I flased my M1015 to LSI 2008 IR, and of course I forgot everything. I`m building my own PCs, but I`m not doing it every year. :)
And on top of that my P9X79 WS likes to do all these flashing exercises in UEFI environment...
Well, it`s obvious this is not my field of expertise. And on top of that I`m embaresed to admit that I didn`t loaded the motherboard chipset drivers. After installing the drivers I was able to transfer 43.2 GB from drive C (intel raid0 2xSSD) to drive D (windows raid0 4xSSD) in 58 seconds. This...
I just bought a LSI 9207-8i. I do have a 4x256GB Samsung830 setup in a Raid0 configuration on a M1015 HBA and I`m very satisfied. I`m working with big media files and I`m only interested in speed. At the end of my work session the files that matters are moved on safe locations. My plan is to buy...
No problem.
Initially, my intention was to go with crucial, but I decided to make a financial effort and I ended up with 4x256GB Samsung 830.
Have to say that M1105 is a lovely card.
AS-SSD: Seq: 1551 MB/s read -- 1527 MB/s write.

LSI 9211-8i flash via the EFI Shell
I finally managed to flash my M1015 to LSI 9211-8i in IR mode using my Asus P9X79 WS, the same motherboard that give me headaches in the native DOS prompt.
I was able to flash it via the UEFI shell. The method I used it`s a simple one and I think it should...
UEFI flash
I found on the Lime Tech forums (http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=12767.360) that there is a workaround for this "Failed to initialize PAL" error by flashing in the UEFI system environment. I tried to make a UEFI bootable USB using this...
I finally built my new system (Asus p9X79 WS) and everything was just fine until "sas2flsh -o -f 2118ir.bin -b mptsas2.rom" command when I got "ERROR: Failed to initialize PAL. Exiting program". I checked on the net and it seems I have to look for another motherboard fo flash my M1015. maybe...
Ok, thanks for pointing that out.
I was really glad when I bought the M1015. Being such a fast controller in Raid 0 it makes me even happier. All I have to do now is to wait for my motherboard to come.
Speed wise, for the 4 x 128 GB M4s I hope something >1,500 MB/s for reading and >700 MB/S...
