Hi all,
I'm graduating and need to relocate. Up for sale is the following server that has helped me through college, asking for $600+shipping OBO:
* Chasis - Intel P4308XXMFGN Server 4U 750W
* CPU - Dual Intel Xeon E5-2670
* Motherboard - Intel S2600CP2J
* RAM - 256 GB ECC DDR3 RAM 16x16GB...
Looks strange, it's slower per core than E5 2670 V1.... I tried wolf's cpuminer some time ago on my dual 2670, but even after manually binding with numactl and setting cpu affinity the best I could get is ~ 800h/s; I haven't tried the dockerized image though.
I'm currently running the stak miner...
I'm running it on gentoo (with NUMA enabled), but should work similarly for ubuntu....
It does need some initial setup.... Here are the steps I did following the author's README.
First of all I changed some configs as follows:
diff --git a/CMakeLists.txt b/CMakeLists.txt
index b377c22..464cb63...
Also got one. SMART data also shows < 1 year of uptime, 30 power cycles and < 11 TB writes (if Host_Writes_32MiB is accurate)
SMART Attributes Data Structure revision number: 1
Vendor Specific SMART Attributes with Thresholds:
ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAG VALUE WORST THRESH TYPE...
Did you try some partition recovery program like testdisk and ddrescue? I once had some luck with them on a dying HDD, and was able to recover pretty much everything. Good luck ;)
