It does work , your not trying hard enough. A cf or an ssd are still storage mediums. Once in the switch (boot) do a format. We changed our ssds in each unit to 64GB without issue . I don’t understand why using google is such a struggle for people anymore
Notes to start with:
This takes a while, formatting the eUSB internal flash takes up to ~4 hours, unless you replace it with newer, which we did.
You must use n5000-uk9.5.0.3.N1.1c.bin to start, and upgrade to ver 6 then 7 afterwards. You can not go straight from latest.

The switch comes with netvisor 2.6.2. It can run netvisor one 7.0.0, but first has to get upgraded to bios v36 or higher. Next it has to get the cpld completed to latest, which iv done. Finally it has to go to netvisor 3.11 and from there to netvisor 7.0.0.
Finally got the bios update. The switch has to be upgraded to a relay v14 first from the default v14. Edgecore will provide us the rest of the files after the relay upgrade is completed on June 7th
The switch is a white box design, it can run quite a few nos on it. We have an edge core supprt contract already. It can run the following :
