why would you need this?
In the r180 f34 servers U can use the stock caddy with sas or sata drives.
I am using a 4tb ironwolf Sata,500gb wd red sata, 1tb ssd sata connections.
The controller on the board is built to support 10 sata drives.
there's no need for an adapter unless you are testing a...
I used the same exact M.2 PCIE with proxmox and was able to see both the Sata and the NVME drive with default bios configurations.
I later switched to nutanix and move the devices to another machine because CEPH was bad.
Eitherway, the m.2 adapter should be working in your machine, unless it is...
is not bad for a 1u server, they are very quiet, put them under power saving mode.
I am comparing them to an r7910 and md1000 when I say they are quiet, you will still hear them a bit and when rebooting.
For those of you asking about rails, I have not been able to find any usable sliding rails, even the microcenter rails required some modification and were a pain to deal with. I instead got some static rails and they work wonderfully.

Interesting, I am running 2x e5 2678v3 12 core CPU's, it might be due to me using the md1000 as a comparison.
Either way, great servers for running a cluster on, currently running a 3 node nutanix cluster.
what settings do you have them on under the bios? If you crank them up to max they will be extremely loud, if you leave it on energy saving/medium performance they are not that loud at all. (Compared to my dell servers and MD1000 ).
Update: Seller offered me a price of $75 + shipping.
The supermicro rails mentioned earlier in this thread work with holes being drilled, they are currently sold out.
I broke mine trying to put it back in the rack, going to try a shelf rack and see how that goes, may need wood. will update After.

Thank you! I just flashed the 128MB and it worked perfectly.
I bought 3 of these servers to experiment with proxmox and HA, so far things are running well.
I think my next task should be to update the bmc as it is on v4.10 and the other two bmc's are on 4.75 and 4.88
both the 4.75 and 4.88...
Okay,
how do I get the BMC out of console mode and back to basic? I made a mistake and accidentally rebooted with it and now it has no webGUI.
EDIT: Flashed the 128MB bmc file from the gigabyte support. It reset it to the defaults and had to run a
"ipmitool user set name 2 admin"
"ipmitool...
I tried 2x 16gb sticks of ram and everything booted fine, the ram was fine and works well, tested in a r7910, this server doesn't appear to support lrdimm 64gb sticks of ram.
I did a factory reset of the BMC via the web gui and now am unable to access it. I can ssh in to it and get the server...
