Oh, I understand now, so besides chokes, could it be some how capped and forcibly not supported by same CTO server? or if I find a CTO DL380 G9 server with 4 or more chokes it has to work. Sorry for the dumb questions, im not an advanced user in servers.

Actually, I just checked and my Motherboard (where processors does work) have one choke missing.

So I have tested acouple of new 2696v4 processors in my server DL380 G9 and work as charm. This means if I get just CTOs of same model it should work 100% right?

Oh! I will check both of my motherboard models to check this. My hpe motherboard should not have any missing since it supports this model.

So this is why my server does support them, just luck lol. What are chokes?

So, it depends on the OEM of these exact processors I have for compatibility? I mean, I have a couple of 2696 v4 working fine in my DL380 G9, does this means that my new processors may not work in that server either being the same model?

2696 v4 is only 150W , I cant belive intel removed compatibility only for 5w, this is insane.

Yes yes, but I put those processors last month and thought they would be much more compatible.

Im running exact same processors in a DL380 Gen 9 server.

I just got 3 x S2600WTT motherboards with 2x E5-2696 V4 each. I just build one of them and no video output or boot, I then placed my old E5-2650 V3 processors and it does boot and I have video signal, I updated to Bios Latest Version (1.01.3029) that seems to add Processors compatibility also...
