Glad to hear it worked out. With my batch of drives, I had no issues setting the link speed while they were attached to a Dell HBA.

Grabbed these Dell branded S3700 200GB from eBay a while ago for a project but never ended up using them. No reallocated sectors and around 24000 power on hours. Updated to latest firmware and links set to 6Gbps. $80 each shipped via USPS Priority (price is firm). CONUS only. Would prefer...

Just to add another data point, I also sent $1200 via Google Wallet and have since opened a fraud claim. In retrospect, there were quite a few red flags along the way but I was lulled by a false sense of security from all the smooth dealings with other STH members.
