Nice looking units especially with the 10gbe mezz cards included. Looks pretty c2100 style bet those trays fit. Did some googling and apparently some of these have in the rear left gave 2x2.5" hot swap as well that these don't. Wonder if it's as simple as finding the trays of if there is also an internal cage/backplane needed.

If you can get caddies to work, that is awesome!

This Quanta barebones is looking like the best way to go, short of getting a c6220.

It has 24 RAM slots, 10Gb SFP+ mezz, LSI 2008 Chip Mezz HBA/Raid Card, and dual 1100w PSUs.

I found this same drive model posted by @unclerunkle for a bit less. I wonder if they are compatible, as the drives and support documentation are the only things holding me back on this.

Edit: nevermind after looking more closely this server looks different from one I have with the same part number.

Cisco UCS gear is really nice, I deal with these at my work, but a lot of the peripherals are proprietary and expensive.

Still a good deal if you don't plan on using the hard drives. (Trays are $30+ each)
How are the Cisco's with remote management if you do not have a support contract?

So who's going to find the price floor on these? This looks perfect to replace my last LGA1366 system at home, and decom a JBOD, but my upgrade budget is blown for a couple weeks at least.

See the problem is I'm greedy and want the CV RAID card AND 10GbE adapter ;). But I do have a NetApp so maybe o could build and learn a UCS Mini... I'm just trying not to blow it all as I didn't get any of the 2670 CPU's....

Does anyone know if these are quiet? I saw the one guy on reddit pimping these systems but he has not yet answered the noise question.

Countered me with 275. Not bad in the end, not a killer deal, but you're really kind of going in blind with this chassis. It looks like it could be a Supermicro or Intel motherboard rebranded.
