NEW PRICE $300, and new memory configuration - 2 x 8GB sticks.

Not looking to ship this, but maybe someone is interested AND lives in the Providence, RI or Boston area?

Dell PowerEdge R610. Very lightly used - purchased refurbished less than a year ago for my home lab, but was given newer servers by work and no longer need it.

Specs:
2 x 6-core 2.26GHz Xeon L5640 CPU
16GB PC3-10600R RAM (2 x 8GB sticks)
No HDDs (ESXi on internal USB)
1 Empty HDD tray, 5 HDD slot blanks
SAS 6i/R RAID Controller
1 x 502-Watt High Efficiency PS
iDrac 6 ENTERPRISE
Mellanox Connect-X2 EN 10GbE card, 1 SFP+ Fiber Port - HP branded, flashed to latest Mellanox firmware
3M Mellanox sfp+ cable
HP 4 port PCI-E NIC

I also have a second HP branded ConnectX-2 EN card, willing to throw it in if the buyer wants it.

Thanks!
Tim

Okay, I guess either no one lives in the RI/MA/CT area, or my asking price was too high. Dropping price to $450, and including a 3M Mellanox sfp+ cable. Willing to deliver within a reasonable distance of Providence, RI.

Still very high, would consider buying it for $200-$250.
Currently got few R610/2x x5670/96Gb/H700/2x GB10/2PSU for 600 EUR each with shipping included in EU.

The L5640s are generally significantly more expensive on eBay than the X56XX series. Some people like the power savings - it depends on what you are going for. I paid $600 for the server and added the Mellanox cards, NIC, HDD tray, DRAC Enterprise, and sfp+ cable. The two Mellanox cards plus the cable are worth $100 alone based on ebay. I think $450 is a decent price, and while I am always willing to accept offers, I don't think it is as overpriced as you think it is.

As rack servers go, I think so. I work in the same room sometimes. That being said, I wouldn't run it in your living room...

The x5670-x5690 are usually double the l5640 from what I see, I think you have the pricing reversed.

Good price on the server though. If it had an h700 and you'd ship to Canada I'd be very interested....

Hmm... Maybe I was thinking of the X5650s. I do remember having a lot of trouble finding a R610 with L5640s at the time, although maybe it is easier now. Either way, glad to hear it is better priced now.

The L5640's are hard to find as they're budget chips and low wattage. That's PERFECT for what us home labs want but not want a lot of businesses shoot for. I have a dozen or so x5680's to list actually so I've been collecting notes ;).
