Cool! Is the Marvell chip doing any interesting stuff or just dumb switching?

P.S remembering MX204 with same 400G throughput, which was all the rage 5 years ago. Now it's a desktop switch (not Trio, of course) :D

@i386 The table on page two mentions "2 stacking ports of 100GbE". So, maybe 8x 25Gbit SerDes in total on the chip.

If the totals add up generously, that still is 12x25GbE, which is 4 short. Unless if there is some sort of line card converter (similar to PIPE) that adapts the many 10GbE to 4x25GbE.

Either that, or I am badly missing something obvious.

Maybe that product briefing is missing some detail. As always, documentation held under confidentiality agreements rears its ugly head over those trying to better understand what goes on inside the magical black boxes...

Note how it has no mention of: buffer size, TCAM size, fabric bandwidth, and apparently, even the SERDES configurations aren't correct. Shame...

Also @cactusand @i386 the switch chip does support 4x 100GbE as a supported port configuration:Marvell Product Selector Guide 2020-07 Prestera-DX4310.jpg
