Riverbed CX-770, seller accepted my BO of $60 for QTY 2.

No PSU is included but you can find them for around $17 with free shipping (FSP084-DIBAN2 or similar, 12V 7A 5.5x2.5mm center positive)

tl;dr
  • Xeon E3-1125C v2 (4C/8T Ivy Bridge, 40W TDP), you can easily install OpenWrt x86 or pfSense/OPNsense (BIOS isn't locked down either, supports UEFI/CSM boot), even Windows installs
  • 6 GigE interfaces, all Intel (2x i210, 4x from DH89xxCC southbridge)
  • Internal PCIe x8 slot (might be only x4 width, but works with a GPU on an extender)
  • 4 DDR3 slots (PC3-12800E)
  • Cisco rollover cable compatible console port, 115200n8 with BIOS serial redirection
  • Idle power consumption should be in the neighbourhood of ~20W (CX-255)
  • 40mm fans are noisy but not screamers
The weight is ~2.5kg and the compatible FSP power supply is 450g. Probably not worth the expense of international shipping (and the seller doesn't participate in GSP).

Here's my write up of the CX-255, which is the same Advantech NAMB-3250MB motherboard but with a lower-spec CPU (Celeron 725C), only 2 DIMM slots, and 3 fewer Ethernet interfaces: Riverbed SteelHead CX 255 | «WatchMySys» Blog

Thanks, but my wallet hates you. I'm addicted to repurposing old HW into firewalls just to see what they are capable of. Sent an offer for two @$30/ea.

Unless you already got the extras 30-45 for the bare unit feels a bit meh.
Buy the rackmount/psu seperate and you have paid more than just buying the full set.

procuring the RAM, SSD, power brick, and rack mount extensions will definitely go more than $75
Where did you get that RAM and SSD aren't included in the original auction?

Sure, if you want to rack mount it, buy from the seller with the rack mount extensions. Personally I will just throw it on an existing rack shelf.

Ayy! You're right. I made a mistake and mentally referenced OP's photo of another unit as the one in the auction.

Having the original power supply might be worth a few bucks or just having everything ready to go.

Grabbed two for BO of $35; looks like I got in before the STH effect. Looking forward to getting pfSense running on these.

Definitely post up how they do once you get them up and running. Sounds like they're an awesome platform for a netgate alternative.

I got my Riverbed server today. I was expecting what was pictured above however mine came with two 2GB DIMM's, dual 2.5" tray with second SATA/power cable, and an out-of-band management card. Now I need to purchase a power supply to make sure it boots.
