NOOB question: I've poked around from this forum to HP's site. I got my T730 updated to BIOS 1.11. I found sp93015 on HP's FTP server, and the 1.14 firmware is in there, so I'm sure I can get that installed. Anyone know what service pack the 1.15 firmware is in? There are thousands of them. I can maybe download a giant gob of cva files and search them, but yeesh...

UPDATE: Never mind. It's in sp96679. I only had to download 4000-ish files to find it. :)

Some mellanox connectx-4 lx cards cannot be recognized, such as mcx4121a-acat mcx4121a-xcat, or OEM products, such as huawei sp333
BIOS version 1.15

@WANg or others, I have a t730 just aquired, (and paid too much, apparently). I was booting from a USB stick, live CentOS 7 "CD". It boots fine from the panel USB port, but will not boot from the internal USB port. I made sure the internal port was enabled in BIOS. Gives " no bootable" type message. Anywhere I should be looking? I find Bios config in this machine confusing. I am used to older machines. Not looking to do anything fancy, just run pfsense.
(yes, I am a noob registration, here. Been reading awhile, but not posting)

T730 straight up will not boot from internal USB, period. Sucks.
Well that craps on my plans! "Art of Server" steered me wrong on his video!
I will have to find a very cheap M.2 device, I suppose, as I don't really want usb stick hanging out...:)

I should have read the WHOLE t730 thread! This was mentioned toward the end. I wonder why this is the case, this would seem to be the opposite of the preferred situation. Sorta the point of an internal USB, no?

I searched on "thin" on BVA Auctions.
Starting bid on some older clients is EU 15,- Excluding VAT, Auction costs and shipping.

"Geen AC" means no PSU.

A t620 is not the same as a t730. It’s not even as powerful or useful as a t620 Plus.

Ebay search

(519330-001,463955-001) -(generic)

should find you the HP 90w power supplies for <$15. Not sure if the T730 are different. There are HP 135W and 230W PS if needed. They are also fairly inexpensive.
Eh, they are not special at all - any mid-size IT shop supporting a fleet of HP ProBook/Elite laptops and docking stations will have compatible power bricks (7.4mm "black ring tip" )with them that will work on the t730 - I can certainly vouch for this. Hell, my t730 has been using the 120w power brick (645156-001) from my HP 2012 Advanced docking station (A7E36AA#ABA - which is less than 30 USD on eBay and used with my HP laptop to drive 2 Displayport LCDs) with no issues whatsoever, and it even runs on my 90w universal laptop power brick from iGo (30 dollar purchase from the Radio shack liquidation) just fine. I am pretty sure that I can have it working on my 65w HP Elitebook 2560p power adapter as well. The big benefit to the 90w adapter I am using now on the t730 (HP part 042519-11) is the 90 degree barrel jack so when my cats climb up to the server cabinet they won't use it as a step. Otherwise, just look for a genuine HP 90w power brick compatible with HP EliteBooks from the numerous hardware liquidators on eBay.
Sorry but I have some questions. I keep looking for those part numbers and all sort of differently specced power bricks come up. I think I found the official HP 730 90w power supply to be 19.5V but I keep finding 90W adapter that are 19V or even 18.5V, even the official HP ones.
Does it auto-sense voltage? Is there a voltage margin-of-error on the T730's input-side? Or does it only work at 19.5V? Can you guys confirm what your specific working power bricks are labeled as? I'm in a sea of generic and original-branded, 7.4mm barreled, lookalike but voltage-varied search results and I'd like to make a choice that actually works and doesn't fry my T730 upon arrival.

Thanks!!

it’s about +/- 0.5v from 19v - I’ve gotten the t730 working on 90w dell 7.4mm center-positive power bricks in a pinch, but it should be an original authentic HP power brick if you expect it to last.

Has anyone running pfSense on this figured out how to get it to display temperature?
