Ironically... that news website has now totally changed the content of that article...

The original article:

...bureaucratic indeed.

Other half is saying that there is talk of governments forcing everyone to vaccinate when it arrives... without any real long-term studies on said vaccination and its side-effects??! We shall have to wait and see, it is all sounding rather like some relative script straight out of 1984... tinhat flickering again.

What stores do you shop at besides AMZ, ebay, Newegg?
I do direct dealings with first level equipment distributors primarily, just another income avenue really. Amazon is mostly for sundries and components for another income avenue. Never used Newegg before, they're further down the chain to what I deal with.

i get the sense not everyone understands the meaning of a lock down around here.... with almost every one i've spoken to, their employers have come up with some excuse to say they are an "essential business" and were told to go into work. these businesses include small/medium online sellers, car dealers, tech companies, etc. i'm also seeing teenage kids hanging out together to get some ice cream, etc. i'm pretty sure "cold stone" should be a non-essential business... and hanging out with friends is not social distancing... with such a "loose" definition of lockdown, things will have to get much worse before they get better...

I hear your angle, but what of the other angle...

Now I don't have my own country to run, but if I did, I would provide the advice, provide REAL stats and not put every single 'death' into the total count, and I would definitely not impose a ban on movement. But then there will always be people shouting 'nobody listens, we need to force people to stay at home', and this is just it, if people dont want to listen, want to take the risk that they are not in the what? 3% of the population who could possibly die from something which also is starting to sound like it potentially needs you to have other underlying existing health issues??!... but then there is also the argument of people being carriers of it? well again my counter argument is well nobody is forcing you to mix with anyone, you could lock your doors and windows and simply not mingle with anyone for however long.

My point? theres freedom and theres excuses to take it away, once you give governments a reason to take it away, the system falls into place to take it away quite easily the next time round over something completely different, it is called 'conditioning'...

At the end of the day if people are ignorant of the advice then let them take the risk, and if people are frightened of carriers, well the answer is simple, don't socialise.

Stupidity and the gullibility of people is what further feeds the growth of governments, we don't need more governing, we need more back to basics common sense and power back in the hands of people.

From guns, to viruses, to terrorism to whatever... every new law/power was granted to take away our liberties, and they all had some form of justification behind it... and nearly always it's to do with 'keeping us safe from the boogie-man'... I can take care of myself thank you very much.

The other theory flying around out there is that a major recession was already on the cards, and this whole COVID thing came together just at the right time, ironically... to top it off, just a coincidence that hayfever season is ready to kick off soon too... let us not forget the IMF have officially declared a global recession, how nice of them, hardly any news coverage on that one!

My position... we need to condition people back into common-sense, and sometimes that is achieved through hardship and suffering, people need to grow balls and hair again.
If we keep nanny-holding everyone's hands to save them, future generations are going to be incapable of surviving without government guidance on how to walk, where to walk, what to eat, what to believe and what not to believe. It all sounds far fetched and conspiracy-theory like... unfortunately this is our modern reality.

Next year it will probably be a microbe from space converting people into non-compliant threats to society...

I live in southwestern CT. There were 752 cases in my county yesterday, 79 in my town. We have been under state proclaimed stay at home for two weeks. I pulled my kids out of school three weeks ago, and my house started social distancing then.

Official cases are doubling every 3 days. Only 29 deaths in the state, but most of those are the earliest reported cases; that is, the people dying have been sick for over a week or more. There aren't enough tests for those with symptoms, maybe 1 in 5 are getting tested in my town. The peak is expected to be about three weeks out, minimum. The Dr.s here are terrified.

Do the math. 752x2^7 cases for my county alone if the curve doesn't start flattening.

Three weeks ago, there was 1 case in my county. The rest of the country is three weeks behind us. This horse has flown the barn.

Humanity has been divided for a long long time, the rich and the poor is just one facet of the false sensation of 'unity'. The thought of 'unity' is merely a tool of control, from nationalism to patriotism to religions.

Real unity does not exist I'm afraid, but the loving thought of unity has been greatly beneficial to those few who desire to control the masses.

From California to Australia to UK to all over, businesses have gone under. A few self-employed IT consultant colleagues of mine are right now unemployed, the so-called government support will barely cover their rent, the cost of living right in the middle of hyper-cities I guess.

There are some huge economic changes coming, drones watching us is just the tip of the iceberg. Conspiracy theorists going wild with their imaginations isn't helping at all. The simple fact here is that COVID was the perfect recipe to establish a whole measure of changes, which have now been set into motion.

Things will change, and for the most part, the world will actually believe it is to keep us safe and food on our tables. I'm no longer a young spring chicken thus I shall sit back with my popcorn and remember how great the 80s were.

Which ones? I mostly buy from retailers or b2b like D&H. Do you get any good deals?
It depends on the contracts I get, don't really have any single supplier as such and really not at liberty to disclose our b2b partners for obvious reasons. The contract requirements change all the time, sometimes I get great deals which indeed means I profit greatly. It really is only larger rollouts which brings home as americans put it 'top dollar'. I've only been doing this for the past year but it has been the least amount of work I've ever had to do for good returns, was planning on hiring more staff before this covid thing hit us, now not too sure what the future holds to be frank.

Outside of the lockdown, we can still go driving around. So plan is to test that out this Sat AM and take the toy (fiat 500 abarth) out for some back road sprinted driving. Hopefully i dont get pulled over
I've been doing this almost every day now in the nismo - I'm sure it highly depends on where you live, but here, right now, it's like the entire outskirts of my town have turned into a racetrack. the roads are completely abandoned, there's not a soul to see anywhere outside, it's like I woke up in a dream. If you're one for (responsible) spirited driving, now is the time. As someone who grew up autocrossing, it's the silver lining to the shit sandwich right now. as for getting pulled over, I haven't seen a single police car in our typically heavily policed town for something like a week and a half now, I think they've had their patrols significantly cut

Yesterdays drive was nice, the weather was perfect. I went with my friend, also sporting a Fiat Abarth. No police on the roads we went on. We ended up stopping at a park near a lake and hung out for a bit then drove back home. And traffic was minimal so it was fun. I ran into a modified honda civic, did a quick run on 2 lane road which was fun. Overall, great time to drive especially in early morning hours when the temps are low.

I have 4 direct ancestors who signed the declaration of independence. If you think this country would exist without the united effort of men from all the colonies, then you exhibit ignorance of history.

The great myth in individual survivalism is the failure to understand the greatest strength of the human race is communication of ideas and wealth; as a species, individuals would never have survived the predators- we are naked weak animals compared to what has existed in nature throughout our development.

All our modern inventions depend on the work of great minds that predate this millenia, and the one before it. I personally think it is hubris to ignore our interdependence and the strength that gives our species.

My ancestors fought for the freedom you seem not to understand. By your argument, they were just tools unable to express an idea outside of their colonial indenture.

Aside from tempers flaring and panic buying due to disorganization at the very top of our government, currently things aren’t that bad in CA. I feel most badly for people who have been on the economic edge already; this will push them over. Personally I’m taking this time to focus on family and friends. Buying groceries and running errands for older friends and family so they don’t need to get out. A friend mentioned a group that had been formed to video call the elderly who are isolated at the moment, so will be putting in time for that too.

I am the owner of two businesses...

IT support for small businesses (still open, so far not affecting bottom line) good news since this is what pays the bills!
and a vinyl Decal business that has flat lined... just a side thing to buy cars parts.... and now that things are slow I can install my parts :)
