Did you get this directly from ASRock Rack?

On the official website, the current available version is 2.30

2.42 Beta was already with AGESA 1.0.0.4, and based on the naming of ASRock BIOS tradition, this should be the retail version (dated as Dec-11-2019) succeeding 2.30 on their website, thanks for sharing in advance.

Thank you for posting. I finally got around to doing a Test of my new Board & CPU PRE-Build. I went ahead and updated the bios and I can confirm Posting with the new bios. I will confirm everything is working as expected when I swap this mobo and cpu into my build later.

maybe offtopic question...how to determine if this board supports epyc rome? any notation on the board like supermicro does? example, rev.1.0 or rev.2.0 (in terms of supermicro)?

I think it's a new addition actually, but the specs for the EPYCD8-2T are now showing 7002 CPUs in the QVL, from BIOS 2.30 onwards.

7 steel reinforced slots, all of them 16x. Quite a badass board.
I just noticed the Asrock ROMED8-2T board has a back panel USB Type C port. Does anyone know what USB chipset is used for this USB Type C port?

I did try upgrading the firmware, and now it stays in DXE--Core Started ... 61
Dr Debug shows an error of 06. It was working fine before the upgrade. Really the first time I play with the firmware :´(, not sure if there is a way to downgrade, or this board is fried.

Running:
1 AMD EPYC 7401P (24c/48t 2.0GHz)
4 Micron 32GB PC4-19200 DDR4-2400MHz ECC Registered CL17 288-Pin DIMM 1.2V Dual Rank Memory Module Mfr
1 GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1660 Ti OC 6G 192-bit GDDR6 DisplayPort 1.4 HDMI 2.0B with Windforce 2X Cooling System Graphic Cards
1 Samsung (MZ-V7E500BW) 970 EVO SSD 500GB - M.2 NVMe Interface Internal Solid State Drive with V-NAND Technology, Black/Red

firmware ?? do you mean ipmi firmware ? or bios updated ?

if bios, then maybe your cpu not supported by bios. because many boards and bios's support epyc 1st gen (which one you have) and epyc 2nd gen.
or gen 2 and gen 3.

no any board and bios supports all 3 gen's together, because of the flash size of bios chip

this BIOS:
Support AMD EPYC 7002/7001 series processor
*Need 32MB BIOS ROM chip support. <--- ! ! ! !

check your BIOS chip. 25q128 = 16MB, 25q256 = 32MB

Yes, I meant BIOS Update.
So, my system was running fine with P2.30, but the BMC status showed as failed despite clearing the CMOS.
This is why I tried to upgrade the BIOS to P2.60 and see if it would resolve the BMC problem. Now it just won't post.

Is there a way to downgrade the BIOS again? but I can't get pass to POST, to perform anything, or have a bricked this mother board?
I've sent an email to support ASRock, see if they have anything else I could try.

Thanks all

Do a search for Asrock bios recovery process. I know Supermicro has an end-user process to recover a failed bios update.

I actually tried to upgrade the BIOS with the USB flashback utility because IPMI and BMC never worked.
BMC status always would show failed and DHCP would not work in the IPMI LAN Port. Currently IPMI also does not work, so trying to see if there are other options to recover this.

Screen literally stays in DXE-- Core Started 61 and Dr Debug showed an error 06.
I've tried changing all the memory and only using one, disconnecting video and only left CPU/Memory/Disk.

I'll keep looking around.
Thanks all
