(eBay) New CRS317-1G-16S+RM Cloud Router Switch Mikrotik, 16x SFP+, 1x Gbit Lan
  • Best offered $265, seller counteroffered at $268.88.

  • For my needs I think this switch is awesome - it's super low power (like, double digits afaik). So, you could grab a sweet used Brocade/Dell/etc for a steal, but they're really power hungry. Caveat: This MikroTik is really just a "smart" managed switch at 10GbE wire speeds. The minute you start doing fancy stuff or touching the L3 features, it isn't ASIC/hardware only and goes onto the ill-equipped CPU. Port traffic then slows to a crawl. For my Ceph cluster's backend, this is fine - YMMV!!! As far as I've experienced, MikroTik SFP ports are generally vendor agnostic.

  • Brand new, drop ships from Latvia by the looks of it via DHL Express. I'm assuming it's coming from MikroTik's distro in Latvia? Mine is arriving early next week.

  • Seems about the same cost as the 8 port version of the same switch from MTik right now (for me in Canada, anyway)

When I open the link I get to one that ships from Ireland for $298...
Ah, my bad folks...didn't spot the duplicate thread.

I'm guessing they're a MikroTik distributor/reseller who is drop-shipping, because the package itself is originating from Riga, Latvia and not Ireland (from shipment tracking).
