I'm not sure how you found the firmware issue, but I have qty of similar drives with different HPE model number - V0015300JWCNL. Any issues there? Still PM1633a 15.36TB SAS, MZ-ILS15T0 drives.

I've been meaning to start a FS thread for a bit now... suppose I can match these prices ($1800/ea, $1500/ea 3+). If folks are interested, feel free to shoot me a PM and don't fill up on ebay. :)

Will try to get something posted today/tomorrow, work permitting.

Cheaper price and lower Rand write speed implies that this is TLC nand, am I correct to assume it?

The Samsung PM1633a drives are based on the company’s third-generation 256 Gb TLC 3D V-NAND memory chips introduced [in 2015]

I think most ssd with sizes larger than 3.2TB are almost for sure using TLC nand. I rarely seen high capacity ssd with more than 1x DWDP, especially since even at 1DWDP it represent PB in endurance.
