if i didn't already have a pair of this, i would have been all over it ;).... $460 for the pair is pretty good price.... got mine when it was $600 for the pair.... they are slightly faster than 1950x at multicore....

So these are an oem placed between e5-2695v2 at $120 or so and the e5-2697 v2 at about $280...do they express any special characteristics like higher turbo bins like some OEMs do?

did you buy them recently on that ebay sale that was listed on this forum?

I have the 2696 v2 and i can tell you it's definitely a little faster than 2695 v2 in both single and multicore. If you just go by $/performance, obviously nothing currently can beat the 2695 v2 fire sale that's going on right now... but if you want the top of the line 12 cores v2, this is not bad price as i got my pair of 2696 v2 for $600 a while back..

Damn it. I mist read it as 2696 V3. I was think holy crap that's a steal. $460 for v2 is a good deal for a pair as well.

should just hang on to them... i am hanging onto mine... lol...
no need, i bought high core count cpus cause i was going to use them in a single socket mobo but i am moving to double socket and would prefer to "trade them up" for more cpus.
