It seems strange to be pushing 4x1gbe at the end of 2019; if you need that much network, why would you not need 10gbe?

The Intel Xeon E-2100 series is now the only server line Intel sells without an integrated 10GbE MAC. The E-2100 is built for low-cost web hosting, so 1GbE may make sense. I agree I want to see these platforms adopt 10GbE.

The dual gbe, sure; but quad? The lower end sku definitely seems like a more compelling option, and the upper end sku more like "we did this because we could".

I know it’s pure cost issue but it’s sad to see only 1G network in any system in 2018, I know a lot of applications don’t need 10G but doesn’t mean it’s not nice to have.
