So my ZFS server mapped drives apparently doesn't show up in windows backup as sources any more.

I'm wondering if there are easy enough ways to backup to a USB drive plugged into a tomato-usb router, or similar network locations. Or should I just plug it in to my server and run it as a ZFS filesystem and replicate it to it locally?

I'm running an AIO. It would be nice to have it backup to a network location, since I could locate that in the garage or somewhere.

I would prefer ZFS replication to a removeable local USB or Sata/eSata/SAS pool from a single disk. For a network location I would use rsync ex via daemon mode to a remote Linux/Unix system.

Perhaps investigate this a bit more before searching for alternatives - what OS? Gea will know better but on OmniOS this might be related to deprecated SMB1 or a disabled netbios setting ...
