Xeon Gold as a requirement would be quite alright - whether it's 52xx or 62xx - so long as the requirement is not -M for "additional memory capacity". That 3000$ preMium is just ....... questionable at best.

So it is pin compatible with ram but systems won't just see it as a bigger slower piece of ram? It will need maybe hardware/memory controller support and/or special driver support so Intel can segment its use to premium $$$$ systems?
