I'm planning my first home ESXI build and thought I'd ask you experts for your opinions on the components before I pull the trigger.
I'll be running my Sophos UTM firewall, a Linux VM for file services and a Windows VM that I will access using RDP. The box will be sitting next to me in my home office and I'm sensitive to fan noise so I'm going for basically silent. I also tend to keep my hardware forever and try to keep the power bills down.
Here's the proposed build:
The firewall is pretty much in use all the time but the other VMs are pretty quiet.
Thoughts? Feedback?
