I'm using Mellanox copper cables without incident (eg: MC2206130-00A 0.5M cable). I've also used some Mellanox QSFP to SFP+ converter (eg: MAM1Q00A-QSA), even HP rebranded ones, and they all work fine.So someone mentioned earlier that they had used a Mellanox DAC with this switch and it was working. Do Mellanox direct attached copper and the direct attached optical fiber transceivers work fine? Or do they give unsupported messages and the switch has to be "unlocked" to work?

I thinks it's fairly safe to say that most mellanox sku's are white-listed by Arista as the two have a very symbiotic relationship.
Cisco and HPE SFP/QSFP combinations do not work without workarounds. With more current versions of EOS, they just dont pass traffic

The easiest way to do this is to plug in a USB, copy the swi that's on the flash to the USB, then delete from flash. Then copy the new EOS from the USB back onto flash. Mod the boot file and reload.Hi!
did you have any problems on upgrading? Arista writes, that you need at least two times the size of the image to install +240MB. The newer images show a size of 628MB.
As the flash size is only about 1.6 GB, that is hard to handle, as the "old image" consumes 430MB...
Can you give me a hint on how to update, or is there no problem, if I just start it?
1600 MB
- Old 4.16 Image 436MB
- New 4.18 Image 628 MB
--> Only 550 MB free...
Thank you for your help!
You want to give me a hint? ;-)Schweet. It worked. I had just assumed those would be tied to the system/serial. Gracias.
