Like some prospective buyers, I am still waiting for memory tests on AMD epyc.
DDR4-2400 dual-rank vs DDR4-2666 single-rank. The results of this test are far less obvious and the topic comes come up every time someone wants to buy Epyc. Or maybe DDR4-2666 DR works by now? Supermicro has a few dual-rank DDR4-2666 listed for compatibility. I would really appreciate if STH could finally dig into this issue.

1950x hashrate numbers seem a bit low. I'm seeing numbers between 1300 and 1350 h/s on a Win10 system where nothing else is running. Stock clocks & air cooled. Haven't tried on Linux though. This is also with only 3 sticks of DDR4 2400 ECC memory. I suspect adding a 4th one may improve the numbers a tiny bit. I started with one stick first since DDR4 is tough to get at anything close to a reasonable price now and the numbers were pretty abysmal -- sub 1k. Adding a second 16GB stick resulted in a nice bump to the 1200-1250 h/s range. Adding a 3rd stick increased the rates even more to 1300-1350 h/s. I'm only seeing 1100 h/s averages when I'm actually using my desktop for browsing, youtube, watching videos in VLC, etc.
I was sort of expecting to see more than 1.6kh/s with twice the L3 cache size, but maybe clocks kill the performance here.

The other factor is the H/$. Of course you'll get more hash with $2400 worth of CPUs vs. $900. Dual SP3 motherboard and more DDR4 also add to the marginal cost of EPYC.

And if I'm looking purely at H/$, the 7301 destroys the 7351 as well.

OC isn't worth it because it uses way more power.

The 7351P is cheaper on Amazon right now. Video says about same. Comments say EPYC is more. It's the opposite.

They're different uses though.

Maybe chips are cheaper or the same but more RAM and more mobo costs make TR cheaper.

Kind of funny that you can get dual-socket SP3 boards cheaper than single-socket. BTW, they are capable of running only one CPU.

At list price sure, but the H11DSI seems to be out of stock everywhere that has it for list price. Going rates right now are ~$700.

I only keep track of prices in Germany/EU, it is still available starting from ~500€ here.

1100 is reasonable if you're not doing affinity tuning. 1300 is more like it if you optimize but you can do the same for epyc I'd say. Even at 1300 it's sill 35-50% better for epyc
