My Microsemi 81605ZQ is working alright but i wish i could use nvme drives as ssd cache instead of slow sata. Current msrp is $800 +shipping and paypal fees but i wish i could see some benchmarks compared to lsi or microsemi cards to see if it competes on speeds.

Thoughs?

I have the 8105zq too with 2 hgst husmm sas ssds as cache devices.

I rarely hit the ssd (write) cache on my file/mediaserver, most writes can be handled by the controller cache. Average throughput is about 750mb/s on a 10gbe link.
I ran a few synthetic benchmarks (cdm, dskspeed, atto disk benchmark) and with enough threads (4+) and high queue depths(8+) I can get 2.5 gbyte/s reads/writes.

Without knowing your workloads I can't say if it makes sense to get nvme ssds or not.

I move a lot of small files between my server and workstations and I wish they copied faster. Big files are ok speedwise
