Anyone here tried the Xeon E5-2651 V2?

I am seeing about 1060 H/s on dual 2660V2 using old xmr-stak on bare metal.

Dang, that's more than my 2x2667v2 board was getting, but I was just running XMRIG with zero config. I suspect I should get ~1200 if I actually set up NUMA affinity. It's offline for the time being though, moving house...

@Joel

Yeah - you should for sure get higher hashes than me. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions and I will be happy to help.

Note that I am running xmr-stak though. I did not find xmrig to be that good despite quite a bit of testing.

Ah that's good to know. I'll have some time to play with it on Saturday, after installing my two Vega 64s.

Ah, I've already ordered pair of these 2651. Thank you for for the information.
BTW, mine E5-2660v2 hit 1034 H/s on xmr-stak
Have you had a chance to test them? If so, how did they perform on Monero, and what was their power draw? Thanks

I am interested in this too, have 2 more nodes with v1 that can use an upgrade.

I tried few configs, but no luck:
Totals: 888.1 888.8 888.6 H/s
Highest: 891.4 H/s
Power draw is similar to 2660v2 I think, maybe later I'll measure it on my quanta setup.

I note that's for Aeon, I think folks were asking about XMR hash. Could you be so kind as to get a quick read on XMR?

I think 10 threads on the physical cores, plus 4 threads on HT cores would be a good place to start.

This is great, thanks. I bet someone else who has used that docker image can chime in on whether it will automatically configure 2 CPUs in a case like this.

When I first started mining I used the minergate image. It does not configure NUMA affinity.

I speculate that ~900h/s is the best there is for (x2 of) this processor.

That seems like high wattage for only one CPU, but I don't have any reference, just looks like it's using both based on that.

I can try another miner just need link to build instructions for Ubuntu.
xmrig looks like it has a precompiled binary you can use: Releases · xmrig/xmrig · GitHub

Try this out (if you don't use nicehash just change the pool target):

Edit: This is assuming 1 CPU. The second instance is designed to target any available Hyper threaded cores that have "bandwidth." For 2 CPUs you'd run 4 instances.

docker run -itd -e -o stratum+tcp://cryptonight.usa.nicehash.com:3355 -e username=xxxxxxxx -e numthread=10 -e cpuset_cpus"0-9" servethehome/monero_xmrig

docker run -itd -e -o stratum+tcp://cryptonight.usa.nicehash.com:3355 -e username=xxxxxxxx -e numthread=4 -e cpuset_cpus"12-23" servethehome/monero_xmrig

This is following @funkywizard's guide from this post:

Try this out (if you don't use nicehash just change the pool target):

Edit: This is assuming 1 CPU. The second instance is designed to target any available Hyper threaded cores that have "bandwidth." For 2 CPUs you'd run 4 instances.

docker run -itd -e -o stratum+tcp://cryptonight.usa.nicehash.com:3355 -e username=xxxxxxxx -e numthread=10 -e cpuset_cpus"0-9" servethehome/monero_xmrig

docker run -itd -e -o stratum+tcp://cryptonight.usa.nicehash.com:3355 -e username=xxxxxxxx -e numthread=4 -e cpuset_cpus"12-23" servethehome/monero_xmrig
