My MSI afterburner config

For Gigabyte GTX 1070ti ,
power limit 65% , Core Clock +225 , Ram Clock +700

For MSI GTX1080ti
power limit 76% , Core Clock +100 , Ram Clock +450

I didn't spend a lot of time tweaking it.
I want to start mining , hopefully "non-stop" mining for 4-5 months to achieve ROI.

Monday, this week, I have no Nvidia card for mining.

Today, I have a GTX 1080ti , 2 x GTX 1070ti in house. Yesterday, ordered 2 x GTX 1080 from Amazon.

I am sick and need help.

GeForce GTX 1070 Ti , 64 C , 115 W , 487 Sol/s , 4.23 Sol/W
GeForce GTX 1070 Ti , 60 C , 116W , 489 Sol/s , 4.22 Sol/W

GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, 58 C , 193W , 702 Sol/s , 3.6 Sol/W

Goal for me is tweak the card for higher Efficiency the better, GTX 1070ti is the front runner between the two.
Took a second look at my numbers as they felt a bit low.

GTX 1080 -- 130 watts @ 500h/s -- puts me at 3.8 sol/w for 1080.

I'm using 140w at home, 130w at the datacenter.

If the nVidia pool moves forward, would anyone here be interested in pooling (lol) our resources and mass ordering some of the headless GPUs?

We've certainly done a great job here with CPUS; I'd me more than happy to devote some energy to this if we could engage enough of us to support a sizeable order??

Would probably have poor resale value. What kind of savings is likely?

See these two youtube videos in south Florida

Thank you for this!

I hope this guy is inland. On the coast it rains sideways for 30 minutes a day during the summer.

Salinity would be my biggest concern.

And no way on earth homeowner’s is touching this setup of anything does happen.

I didn’t check but I wonder if this was shot pre-Hurricane Irma because if these were outside in September I promise you they got wet!!!

Though I do love this “getting it done” approach!

His home was actually in the path of Irma, he had a video about the storm as well.

One more worry, check out how many power extension he used to power all his rigs.

I’m not exactly sure. For example, there were a few quotes from last June suggesting a 1080 optimized just to mine for like 350. And recently I read that they were impossible to get without significant quantity.

I’ll look into it over the weekend, although my best guess is nVidia is probably looking to unload these with quantities in the hundreds at a time (assuming they are available at all).

But I’ve done essentially zero research on this. I’ll have some answers soon, but it would be interesting to know what cumulative interest there may be within this community and at what price for what cards.

I sure can’t buy 10o right now and if I could I’d instead grab a DGX Station and call it a day (25% off right now)

Wow I don’t see how they didn’t get wet. Only thing I can think of is maybe his fans are spinning fast enough to remove the humidity in real-time.

And you’re absolutely right. I need to brush up on my electrical because I have no idea how that’s sustainable (obvious hazards not withstanding).

# 1, 2, and 4 are 1070ti running stock except for a 108W power limit.

Impressive performance per watt. I assume with GDDR5 instead of GDDR5X, the 1070ti, like the 1070, is more versatile than the 1080 and 1080ti.

Took a look at newegg and ebay. Looks like all the nvidia cards are either out of stock or the price is wildly inflated. GTX 1060 3gb is available in limited quantities at around $280 vs previously at $230. All the other models are only available on ebay, at prices inflated by 20-50% from where they were even a month ago.

In what I assume is related news, looks like a 1080ti right now is estimating at $230/mo revenue mining Zcash (700 sol/s). At the previous price of $700-800, that's absurdly good roi. No wonder they're selling for $1000 and up on ebay and sold out from regular stores.

Might be interested in a decent amount of them if I hadn't already spent a huge amount on Dual E5's. Those are killer prices if they're real. I'd probably want to get a handful of these anyway, but not enough to move the needle on a multi-hundred order minimum.

I doubt Nvidia would entertain something like that right now given that literally any video card at all is flying off the shelves.

Need some fine tuning advise

2 x E5 2650 v1 (L3 20 MB each, L3 40 MB for two)
ubuntu-16.04.3

hugepage enabled

tested with
4 NUMA instance, each with 8 thread (except the last one) = 2600 H/s
4 NUMA instance, each with 5 thread = 1800 H/s
2 NUMA instance, 15 thread + 16 thread = 2650 H/s
2 NUMA instance, 10 thread + 10 thread = 1809 H/s
1 instance, 31 thread = 2565 H/s

Anything I can do to improve more H/s?

Thanks!

Sure do. All the time. Turn off HT. Make individual VMs small enough to fit on one CPU. Hash away. If you really want, you can fill up the cores. And make the priority low to make sure your other VMs don’t suffer.

When I try the following in the shell script, I get an error. Runs fine without --cpu-priority=0

docker run -itd --name aeon1b -e username=$wally -e email=$emal -e numthreads=$ythreads --cpuset-cpus="0-9" --cpu-priority=0 servethehome/aeon_xmrig:priv

I get error. How do I set the CPU priority for the docker image?

@Patrick what thread count were you using to get those numbers on the Xeon D's? Trying to find the right balance for my Xeon D-1541 and 1537.
