SR1AB INTEL XEON E5-2660V2 10 CORE 2.20GHz 95W PROCESSOR FOR DELL T5600 C8220 | eBay

It is now time to move to v2 cpu. forget the 2670 v1. that supply has ran its course. and why would you want that older part anyway now that it's so expensive?

2660 v2 is slightly faster than 2670 v1 at multithread for slightly cheaper price and lower power usage. it's a win win! I think the incremental cost is even better than 2680 v2..

No point looking at 2670 v2 since that costs the same as 2680 v2....

Make sure your MB is compatible with v2 cpu. This applies mostly to Dell, HP, lenovo. Older vers of their workstation are bios boot block locked to only v1 cpu with only later date ones support v2 cpu... and you CANNOT user update the boot block! If you buy on ebay, ask for the bios boot block date or MB part number. or if the bare bone system comes with a v2 cpu then should be ok. stay away from any that comes with a v1 cpu b/c most likely they cannot use v2 cpu

for oem like asus, etc should be ok with just the lastest bios update

your YMMV, but my interactions with the esisoinc seller both as buyer and seller have not been positive. they operate under several other names too. i have them excluded on all my ebay searches now.

Really? Can you elaborate?

I bought a couple mellanox cards from them and they were good. They sent me a replacement DAC cable (sorry for the double word) without question when I couldn’t get the ports to come up. It turned out it was my mistake too :(

I've bought some HBAs from them before, they wouldn't budge very much for offers. Shipping took 3 weeks for USPS priority 2-3 day.

i hope whoever tries to buy these things don't just click on the first link they see. You have to do a search for the item! The link i posted are just for the original price at the time i posted my thread. If price has gone up on that seller, need to do a regular ebay search.

Here's one at more reasonable $120. but seller only has 4 currently. no best offer but never hurt to send msg to try an offer:

actually, I recently picked up several E5-2670 v2 for between $75-$100 each. I think that would be the better deal than E5-2660v2 right now.

you must got lucky. the usual buy it now price right now is $175 which is strange since 2680 v2 is faster but is cheaper? !
