Interesting, from what I was reading I expected to see ~2KH/s on Monero and ~4KH/s on aeon... But then again those numbers were from reddit primarily.
On windows yep, on Linux it has less of a following but eventually someone will come out with the tools needed to get them up to speed.

Set fan speed at %65 , 3400 rpm's at 71c.

Its warming my toes as I type this.:D

Also the desktop it really reponsive, the GTX 1080 Ti slowed it to a crawl, yes I know the configuration can be adjusted to offset that somewhat.

Nope I have not hooked up a kilowatt meter yet.

That is very unfortunate, I do have a windows mining machine but was hoping/planning on putting one in my 3u server so it can be used for other things than mining :(

With a dedicated gpu mining machine Windows is really the only option for peak performance except with RX 580, 570, 480 or 470 or below gpu's.

With those you can mod then flash the bios easily in Windows and run them in Linux in a non UEFI install.

A UFEI Ubuntu install checks the bios to make sure its signed but a legecy install does not.

So as long as the gpu has a dual bios you can easily do what you need to do.

On the RX Vega's it has some kind of hardware that keeps it from running a modded bios so for them the get the high speed for now windows is the only option.

Running the fan at %100 its ~4600 rpm at ~59c and fairly loud.

@LinuxBeast:~/amdgpu-pro-fans$ sudo ./amdgpu-pro-fans.sh -s 100

The fan loudness is not that bad but the sound it makes is kind of irritating, its like if you turn your radio or tv to a frequency or channel without anyone broadcasting because it sounds like the static you hear from that.

I think I’m just going to run my dual 2680v2s in Linux for aeon and have a dedicated windows GPU box for the cards. Seems like less hassle.

Xmrig-amd on the RX Vega mining xmr.

Xmrig-amd:

[2018-01-03 22:47:03] speed 10s/60s/15m 1295.9 1266.5 n/a H/s max: 1283.1 H/s

A little faster than xmr-stak-amd

This card is a beast, I really don't think its close to being optimized at all.

With it mining I can still surf the web and watch netflix videos with zero issues.

I could never watch videos or use the desktop at all with the GTX 1080 Ti when I used it for mining.

Highest speed so far mining a cryptonote based coin is 1365.3 H/s.
