Hey guys. Looking to move up from my existing socket 1366 servers to 2011 high density servers. Either 2 node 1U or 4 Node 2U. Aside from the C6220 what else is out there that's priced reasonably?

SL230s if you accept 8 Node 4U.

Also there's supermicro 2 Node 2U for a cheap price.

I've got the Intel H2216. Only challenge I've had with it is that the Node Fan (Sys Fan 2A) always dies. I've replaced them about 5 times now. Not sure why it's just that fan (there are 3 gangs of 2 fans each) but it's happened on all 4 nodes.

This looks promising actually. Wondering if they will accept v2 cpus tho.
For the HP:

Also some FYI:

After we got those servers, we flashed the iLO4 and HBA ROM to get the latest update. We observed that HBA reports 20°C lower after flashing to 15.10.10. Flashing iLO could wipe the user password and advanced key after the first power cycle. Also HBA has compatibility issues with ESXi prior to 6.5.

For the supermicro:

IDK.

Ive bought brand new Supermicro Twin² on a previous job more than 3 years ago (it was v2 CPUs i think), it was quite similar to the C6220 and it was having X9 IPMI which is better than the C6220 ones but not a good as ILO4 would be.
From what i heard they are still working fine after more than 3 years.

There seem to be some in eBay in Europe for great prices but only 3.5" models (but C6220 got impossible to find in 2.5" for a decent price anyway).
