Suggestions looking over your detailed review of this fantastic 1P SM Server:

It would be incredibly helpful to get system dbA noise levels at the front of the server, both at idle and full boar along with the FAN model installed. Some of these new SM 1P servers now have two FAN model choices in the parts lists.

Also really helpful would be to disclose the backplane type (U.2 or U.3) so we can determine if the server is compatible with older PCIe Gen3 U.2 NVMEs such as the Intel DC-P4610 and DC-P3700 series. We have a great deal of customers with those older U.2 drives and they all want to reuse them as backup drives in these new servers and purchase new PCIe Gen4 U.3 drives for production.

A high resolution picture of the wired side of the backplane with each review would also be great so we can understand the possible wiring configurations supported for (NVME/SAS/SATA) as we also see lots of customers who also have SAS SSDs that want to re-use them as backup drives.

SM does NOT publish any of the above data nor manuals on the new backplanes.

Lastly, any chance of getting a review of SM's sister Hyper 1P 2.5" server: AS-2115HS-TNR? We have the same questions there.

Thank You

Noise is not really a design consideration on Supermicro's Ultra line. Don't think it's really relevant to the target market.

Supermicro is also normally quite good about providing documentation. The manual details out 8 possible drive configurations and all the parts required to make them happen. Everything you need should be there. There are options for 4, 8, or 12 SAS drives (rest being NVMe).
