You need a router in front of all those devices, not a switch (in the attic). EDIT: My bad, your diagram makes it looks like the Internet is coming from the basement.

You don't need a lot of power for 1Gb. I was using just an Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite.

Theoretically, if my math is correct, you'll need at least PCI-E 2.0 x4 or PCI-E 3.0 x2 to FULLY utilize 10Gb. 10Gb = 1.25GB/s
