    ICX6450-C12-PD is $35 + shipping on ebay. It's pretty compact. If you want smaller, you should specify some maximum dimensions.

    At some point, they should spin down. Is it really "never" or how long have you waited? Just a quick sanity check: You are connecting your Cisco-Style Console cable to the top port on the left, not the bottom one?

    I think you flashed the wrong FW. You flashed CX623106AN, but AS would be correct.

    I don't think you'll have any issues. The rack mount angles are pretty sturdy and you don't really have any leverage when mounting vertically

    Try to update the 3.9 partition to 3.9.3124, that might work. There are some incompatibilities with ASIC Firmware versions etc…
